About

Google Play Reviews Scraper

Extract public Google Play app reviews into a structured dataset for app research, customer feedback analysis, and competitor monitoring.

Enter an Android app ID, choose a review limit, and select a language, country, and sort order. Each dataset row represents one review.

What you can extract

  • Review ID and available public reviewer name and image
  • Review text and star rating
  • Review date and available app version
  • Helpful-vote count
  • Review URL when available
  • Developer reply text and reply date when available

Fields depend on what Google Play returns. The Actor collects feedback for analysis; it does not assign sentiment labels or generate AI summaries.

How to scrape Google Play reviews

  1. Find the app's Google Play package ID, such as com.spotify.music.
  2. Enter it in scrapeReviews.appId.
  3. Set count to the maximum reviews to save.
  4. Choose the language, country, and review sort order.
  5. Run the Actor and inspect or download the resulting dataset.
Example input
{
  "action": "scrapeReviews",
  "scrapeReviews.appId": "com.spotify.music",
  "scrapeReviews.lang": "en",
  "scrapeReviews.country": "us",
  "scrapeReviews.sort": "newest",
  "count": 100,
  "minDelay": 1,
  "maxDelay": 3
}

Use the package ID from the id parameter in the app's Google Play URL. Submit one app per run.

Review sorting and regional settings

  • newest: request reviews ordered by recency.
  • rating: request reviews ordered by rating.
  • helpful: request reviews ordered by helpfulness.

Language and country settings affect the reviews Google Play returns. They do not guarantee a reviewer's physical location or nationality.

Common use cases

  • Research feature requests and recurring product complaints.
  • Compare customer feedback across competing Android apps.
  • Collect review text for your own sentiment or topic analysis.
  • Inspect feedback mentioning app versions and releases.
  • Track public developer responses to reviews.

Pagination and continuation

The Actor follows Google Play pagination tokens until it reaches the review limit or the available results end.

When a continuation token is available, it is saved as cursor inside the key-value store's state record. You can supply that cursor to a new run with the same app and filters. The cursor points to the next fetched page; reviews omitted when the count limit cuts a page short are not carried into the next run.

Proxies

Direct access is used when no proxy configuration is supplied. Optionally configure proxy in the input form or provide your own proxy URLs. Availability, speed, and regional behavior can vary with the proxy route.

Limits and availability

  • The review count is an upper limit, not a guaranteed result count.
  • Only publicly accessible reviews and reviewer fields are collected.
  • Removed, hidden, or region-restricted reviews may be unavailable.
  • Developer replies, app versions, and other optional fields may be missing.
  • Review counts and ordering can change while Google Play updates its content.
  • This independent tool is not affiliated with Google or Google Play.

Pricing

The monthly rental covers access to the Actor. Bytewells bills compute separately. Review applicable proxy charges if you enable proxies.
